The Stewards requested a report from S. Curling, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Monas Melody, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Galway on July 25th 2022 where she pulled up. Mr
Curling, trainer stated the todays better ground suited his charge and a less competitive race helped bring about todays improvement. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report
The Stewards interviewed Mr H.C. Swan, rider of Stellium, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated he lost count but apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. Swan was in breach of R 10.3(g) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion
