She was picking up the pieces there at the end. This is her home really. She had two runs on the turf to sharpen her up for here. We'll keep coming back here. She got a 7lb rise for finishing seventh here on her last run which I thought was a bit much at the time but we're after winning again now. The Stewards requested a report from Peter Lawlor, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Joupe, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Down Royal on the 2nd September when finishing ninth of twelve runners. Peter Lawlor reported that his filly carried 10st 2lbs at Down Royal and was drawn wide with a quick run to the first bend which did not suit her. He felt that today she was more suited to the All Weather surface and the long straight where she had previously won twice here last year. J. Coen, rider of Cozone (GB) trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls
J.A. Powell, rider of Sweeping Statement trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount missed the break from the starting stalls.
