The raceday privilege request in relation to MAEVE’S MEMORY (IRE), trained by Ben Haslam, was not submitted.
Haslam was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted before 1pm on the day before racing.
The Starter reported that MAEVE’S MEMORY (IRE) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
Ben Haslam was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Leaving the stalls, Bumble Beee (IRE), placed eighth, jumped right onto MAEVE’S MEMORY (IRE), placed seventh, causing interference to High Security (GB), placed fifth, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Leaving the stalls, Mokaman (GB), placed second, jumped right onto the winner, DENZIL’S LAUGHING (IRE), causing P J McDonald, the rider of Electric Blue (GB), unplaced, to lose his irons, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Mokaman (GB).
Inside the final furlong, Emirati Dirham (IRE), placed fourth, edged slightly right causing Rowan Scott, the rider of High Security (GB), placed fifth, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Emirati Dirham (IRE).
The winner, DENZIL’S LAUGHING (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 1 March 2021 where the gelding finished last of six, beaten by 10¼ lengths.
Keith Dalgleish’s representative’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from a 51-day break and the return to turf was noted.
DENZIL’S LAUGHING (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Phil Dennis reported that Secret Eagle (GB), placed third, hung left-handed and Paul Mulrennan reported that Bumble Beee (IRE), placed eighth, jumped right from the stalls and hung right- handed.
