Permission was given for Jacattack (IRE) to be mounted on the course and led early to post wearing a red hood.
John Quinn had obtained prior permission from the BHA to run Miss Nay Never (IRE) partially shod.
The winner, Noorban (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 8 May 2021 where the filly finished eighth of fourteen beaten by 11 lengths.
David O’Meara’s explanation that the filly benefitted from a drop in trip from 6 furlongs to 5 furlongs and appreciated the faster ground on this occasion, was noted.
Noorban (GB) was routine tested.
Leaving the stalls, Miss Nay Never (IRE), placed eighth, jumped right causing Radrizzani (GB), unplaced, to be taken off its intended line, which in turn caused DENZIL’S LAUGHING (IRE), placed fifth, to be moved off its intended line and to be short of room, which in turn moved Tatsthewaytodoit (GB), placed sixth, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Jacattack (IRE), placed seventh, had lost its right-fore shoe.
