She came on a lot from the run and I think she needs to go right-handed — that’s what Emmet (McNamara) said the last day. Master Matt and Lord Dudley, two sprinters, they went a million and she came through off the strong pace. She won over ten furlongs last year. She is going to the breeding shed and her job is done. J. Coen, rider of Andreas Vesalius trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got stopped twice in the straight
W.M. Lordan, rider of Blairmayne trained by Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered interference in the straight
S. Foley, rider of Lord Dudley trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned left up the straight
J.A. Heffernan, rider of One Small Step trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned a little right in the straight
The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the two furlong marker involving Spanish Tenor, ridden by C.J. MacRedmond, unplaced, Andreas Vesalius, ridden by J. Coen, placed fourth, Blairmayne, ridden by W.M
Lordan, placed sixth, Lord Dudley, ridden by S. Foley, placed fifth, Massaman, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed second, and One Small Step, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed first, where it appeared that all horses were involved and a second case of possible interference about one hundred yards from the finish involving Andreas Vesalius, Lord Dudley and One Small Step. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence R.P. Whelan stated that his mount pulled a shoe, lugged right and was straightened up. W.J. Lordan stated that he received pressure from his inside. J. Coen stated that in the first incident a gap opened and he got halfway into it before receiving pressure from his inside. In relation to the later interference, he stated that he got tightened in between horses after the winner had rolled inwards. C.J. MacRedmond stated that he gave his mount two backhanders with the whip, felt a bump from his right which made his mount go left. S. Foley stated that in the first incident his mount leaned left and jinked in the straight. He had tried to correct him with his whip in his left hand but in his opinion his mount did not help him, was difficult to ride and was feeling the fast ground. In relation to the later interference he stated that his mount was there under sufferance. J.A. Heffernan stated that in the first incident Lord Dudley was leading on the wrong leg and while he had heard shouting, it was behind him and his own mount was clear of trouble. In relation to the later interference he stated that in his opinion he was clear of any trouble behind his own mount. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that S. Foley was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards in relation to the first incident, suspended S. Foley for two racedays. Furthermore, the Stewards advised J.A. Heffernan to ride with more awareness
R.P. Whelan, rider of Massaman, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported at a Stewards' enquiry that his mount pulled a shoe during this race
