The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Eastern Racer, trained by James McAuley, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
J.A. Powell, rider of Tooso, trained by P.Cluskey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran keen and hung left in the straight
The Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Ideal Pal, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, G.F. Carroll accepted that there appeared to be one extra hit above the permitted guidelines but stated that a close examination of the video recording would reveal that he had hit S. Foley on the arm and no contact was made with his own mount. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards accepted G.F. Carroll's explanation.
