Permission was given for Motawaazy (GB) to go early to post.
Just inside the 2-furlong pole, Sir Gregory (FR), placed fourth, shifted slightly right-handed causing Theoretical (IRE), unplaced, to become short of room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that there was no riding offence involved and it had not improved the placing of Sir Gregory (IRE).
Billy Loughnane, the rider of King Of Speed (IRE), placed fifth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post, to be beaten a head for fourth place.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Loughnane was suspended for 2 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished fourth.
Being a 7lb Claiming Apprentice, Loughnane was accompanied in the enquiry by a Senior Rider.
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that Carlton And Co (GB), placed sixth, ran too freely and Ben Robinson reported that Theoretical (IRE), unplaced, ran too freely.
