Calculus (IRE), trained by Lucinda Egerton, finished eighth at Newcastle the previous day.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a pre-race examination deemed the colt fit to race.
Darragh Keenan was questioned regarding his riding of Jungle Bells (IRE), unplaced, throughout the race.
Keenan stated that his instructions were to jump well and finish in the best possible position.
He explained that the filly appeared to resent the kickback in the early stages of the race and therefore started to fly leap when travelling down the back straight after which he attempted to move Jungle Bells (IRE) out of the kickback.
He further added that once he had established clear racing room turning into the home straight, the filly stayed on at the one pace under a hands and heels ride.
Keenan stated he would be recommending to the trainer that Jungle Bells (IRE) was unsuited by the fibresand surface on this occasion.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider’s explanations were noted.
Following the race, Sam James reported that Mossbawn (GB), which started second-favourite and finished third, hung left-handed under pressure.
