The Stewards requested a report from Adrian McGuinness, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Saltonstall (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse ran well to finish fourth in the Irish Lincoln on his penultimate start but the last day at Navan they crawled early on and his charge never got into the race. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards that have run three or more times under any Rules of Racing on or before 20th July, 2020, at least one of those runs having been on or after 1st June, 2019, and are rated 80 or more (105 = 10st) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
