Permission was given for Mummy's Boy (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference within the first furlong when Marquis Of York (GB), unplaced, ridden by Barry McHugh interfered with Salonica (GB), placed third, ridden by Connor Planas.
Being a 7lb claimer, Planas was offered accompaniment in the enquiry, but he declined.
McHugh was suspended for 8 days for improper riding as it ought to have been obvious to him that interference would occur by continually angling Marquis Of York (GB) left-handed, despite knowing that Salonica (GB) was close up on his inside, which resulted in that runner being carried off its intended line and crowded for some distance, before Planas ultimately had to take a significant check after running out of racing room.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend involving Always Fearless (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Alec Voikhansky, Anglesey Abbey (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Jack Mitchell and Marquis Of York (GB), unplaced, ridden by Barry McHugh.
Being a 7lb claimer, Voikhansky was accompanied in the enquiry by a senor rider.
The interference was found to be accidental as Anglesey Abbey (GB) had to be checked when a hard pulling Marquis Of York (GB) veered sharply right-handed at the same time as Always Fearless (IRE) edged slightly left-handed leaving Mitchell short of room between runners.
Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, Anglesey Abbey (GB), placed fifth, hung left-handed before being quickly corrected, causing Always Fearless (IRE), unplaced, to be crowded for room, which in turn caused a weakening Marquis Of York (GB), unplaced, to be checked but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Anglesey Abbey (GB).
Following the race, Callum Hutchinson reported that MUMMY’S BOY, unplaced, was slowly away and Barry McHugh reported that Marquis Of York (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
