P.A. Harnett, rider of The Bear Trap, trained by John Geoghegan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was carried right two furlongs out

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Patrick Martin, trainer of Bruce Lightning, regarding the late arrival to the start having been last to leave the parade ring and then trotted all the way to the start when permission to leave the parade ring and go to the start early had previously been approved. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that his charge wouldn't leave the stable in the stableyard and is a difficult horse to handle. He further added that they trotted him to the start as he is a very tricky horse and didn't want the jockey to have any problems
Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards reminded Patrick Martin of his obligation under Rule 205(i) to have his charge at the start on time in future
Amy Jo Hayes, rider of Grand Citadel, trained by Micky Fenton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount hung across the track.
