The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Pocket Warrior (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Paul D’Arcy was interviewed.
His comment that Pocket Warrior (GB) benefitted from a drop down in trip to 5.
5 furlongs was noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Kieren Fox reported that Ask The Guru (GB), placed fifth, hung right-handed in the first half of the race and Royston Ffrench reported that Glyder (GB), placed third, ran too free.
Mark Brisbourne reported that Storm Lightning (GB), unplaced, despite having acted on this ground before, was unsuited by the going which was Good to Firm, Good in places.
He added that, in his opinion, as Storm Lightning (GB) is getting older the gelding is preferring artificial surfaces.
The going was subsequently changed to Good to Firm after this race.
