Permission was given for Come On Dave (IRE) and Hurricane Alert (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held into the unruly behaviour of Hornby (GB), trained by Michael Attwater, which planted on the track and was very reluctant to go to post, subsequently being led riderless to post.
Attwater was informed that any future similar behaviour from the gelding may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, the representative of Ivan Furtado reported that Normal Equilibrium (GB), placed fifth, would be better suited to a flatter track and was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Good to Firm on this occasion, and would prefer a slower surface.
