We know he is as lazy as sin and Paul (Townend) was saying to Katie to keep slapping and agitating and to just keep him going. She said after every hurdle he'd pull up and she'd have to get him going again but he seemed to have a lot in the tank. It was a grand surprise and he was the second lightest weight of ours and definitely the weight just suits him. The Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Low Sun (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent run. W.P. Mullins reported that as this animal was not the most genuine, he instructed the rider to make the running or be very close to the pace. He stressed to the rider that she was to keep persevering and not to give up which in his opinion contributed to the winning of the race when getting a clear run along the rails and running on strongly under a very good ride. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
