Tony Hamilton, the rider of Rocket Rod (IRE), which finished seventh, beaten half a length for sixth, was asked to explain his riding from two furlongs out.
Hamilton explained that the gelding had been slow into stride, leaving him further back than he would have wanted.
He further added that he had been caught in a pocket with nowhere to go and in not wanting to go wide around the field, he had tracked Scotch Mistress (GB) in the hope he could follow the filly into the race, but she had flattened out leaving him with nowhere to go.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, David Nolan reported that Fiftyshadesofred (FR), unplaced, was denied a clear run approaching the final furlong.
