He went and controlled the race from the front, we hadn't intended on doing that but he noticed that the pace was slow and went and used his initiative. The filly is very genuine and she loved the quick ground on the grass today, it's her first time getting those conditions and she's thrived on it. The cheekpieces helped her get a better position as she has been a bit sluggish early in her races. She'll go for another three-year-old handicap somewhere over that trip. Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer
C.D. Hayes, rider of Bright Dick, trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right throughout this race
J. Coen, rider of Summer Snow, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged slightly right from two furlongs out
W.J. Lee, rider of Cherry Pink, trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not quicken in the straight
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Bataan (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fifth, and Mobilise (GB), ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed, third, where it appeared Mobilise shifted across into Bataan's racing line. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, C.T. Keane stated that his mount is easily intimidated and she over exaggerated the interference. G.F. Carroll stated that his mount shifted sharply across despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards gave G.F. Carroll the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and they took no further action
