The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference after the final hurdle involving Magic Conqueror, ridden by Mr Alan O'Sullivan, placed second, and Kings Halo, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed first, where it appeared interference had taken place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. Alan O' Sullivan, stated that he received interference twice after the final hurdle from his outside causing his mount to become unbalanced. D.E
Mullins, that his mount drifted right, but felt he was always holding the advantage on the run to the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Kings Halo had caused interference to Magic Conqueror they were not satisfied that he had improved his finishing position as a result of this interference, so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that D. E. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for three Racedays.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
