Lee’s explanation that the blind got caught on the cheek pieces and required 2 attempts to remove was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference just inside the final furlong involving Stone Of Destiny (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Jason Watson, Dusky Prince (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris, PAPA DON’T PREACH (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Alec Voikhansky, and Atiyah (GB), unplaced, ridden by Joanna Mason.
Being a 7lb claimer, Voikhansky was offered the opportunity to be accompanied but declined.
Watson was suspended for 10 days for careless riding as when he switched left-handed for a run between Twilight Madness (GB), placed fourth, and Dusky Prince (IRE), he was insufficiently clear of Atiyah (GB), causing the filly to clip heels, losing all of its momentum and nearly falling.
Watson then allowed his mount to continue left-handed into the gap, carrying Dusky Prince (IRE) off its intended line, causing Morris to have to take a check for several strides, which in turn resulted in PAPA DON’T PREACH (IRE) running onto the heels of Ramon Di Loria (IRE), placed third.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Aberama Gold (GB), placed fifth, hung right-handed, Luke Morris reported that Dusky Prince (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference just inside the final furlong and Mark Winn reported that Ramon Di Loria (IRE), placed third, hung right-handed in the final furlong.
