The Stewards interviewed L. Quinlan, rider of Something Sweet, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the rule and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that L. Quinlan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency, and I, time to respond
Having considered L. Quinlan's record in this regard the Stewards suspended L. Quinlan for four racedays.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards mares only (116 = 11st 10lbs) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
