Permission was given for Times Edition (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and to go early to post and for both Monsieur Fudge (GB) and With Style (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Times Edition (GB), ridden by Silvestre De Sousa and With Style (IRE), placed second, ridden by Cieren Fallon.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Times Edition (GB)’s placing as the filly had shifted left-handed approximately a ¼ of a furlong out and given a sizeable bump to With Style (IRE), which notably unbalanced both Fallon and his mount before Times Edition (GB) prevailed in a driving finish.
Given the substance of the interference at a crucial stage of the race balanced against the nose margin, the placings were revised as follows: First – With Style (IRE); Second – Times Edition (GB); Third- Rickshaw (GB); Fourth - Monsieur Fudge (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental as De Sousa had corrected his mount from lugging right-handed, which resulted in the filly then shifting left- handed thereby causing interference to With Style (IRE).
Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that Times Edition (GB), placed second, became unbalanced on the undulations of the track.
