Entering the first bend, Likleman (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed whilst racing ungenerously and had to be checked to avoid the heels of Masque Of Anarchy (IRE), placed fifth, before a short distance later then shifting left-handed whilst still unbalanced hampering Molinari (IRE), placed second, which was left short of racing room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend involving Defence Treaty (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mikkel Mortensen and Kalikapour (IRE), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris.
Mortensen was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed when insufficiently clear of Kalikapour (IRE) causing Morris to take a substantial check and lose approximately 1½ lengths as a result.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final 3 furlongs involving Chicago Gal (GB), unplaced, ridden by Billy Garritty and Defence Treaty (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mikkel Mortensen.
Garritty was cautioned for careless riding as initially he had misjudged the size of the gap when attempting to improve his position between the leader Edwina Sheeran (IRE), unplaced, and Defence Treaty (IRE) to his outside, which resulted in Defence Treaty (IRE) being moved off its intended line after receiving a light brush.
Thereafter, following Garritty establishing his running, the remainder of the interference was caused by Chicago Gal (GB) lugging right-handed beyond Garritty’s control and despite his efforts, which caused Defence Treaty (IRE) to be hampered and lose its position when receiving a further two bumps from its inside.
Following the race, Dougie Costello reported that Edwardtheninth (GB), unplaced, was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Defence Treaty (IRE), unplaced, was found to be lame on its right-fore.
