An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately 1 furlong out involving the winner, Foolaad (GB), ridden by Liam Keniry; Jawwaal (GB), placed third, ridden by Paul Mulrennan and Green Power (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Andrea Atzeni.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Foolaad (GB)’s placing as the interference was very minimal and Jawwaal (GB) lost no momentum and with the interference being a furlong out, Jawwaal (GB) had sufficient time to recover and was always being held by Foolaad (GB), with a neck between the runners at the line.
Keniry was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left, causing slight interference to Jawwaal (GB) and Green Power (GB).
Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that How Far (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling.
