The Stewards enquired into an incident in the back straight involving Real Steel, ridden by B.T. O'Connell, placed third, and Benrouge, ridden by R.M. Power, placed fifth, where it appeared Benrouge suffered interference and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion the interference was accidental in nature and they took no further action.
