An enquiry was held to consider why Sam James, who was declared to ride Kaafy (IRE) and was required to provide a urine sample had failed to arrive.
The Trainer, Grant Tuer; the Clerk of the Scales and the Sampling Officer were interviewed.
Tuer explained that James notified him that he was feeling unwell, informing him that he would be unable to take the ride at Wolverhampton that afternoon.
The Stewards gave permission for James to be substituted by Shane Gray and the matter was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend leaving the back-straight involving Rayyan (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Clifford Lee, Super Julius (GB), placed second, ridden by Joey Haynes and Kaafy (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Shane Gray.
The interference was found to be accidental as initially, Lee on Rayyan (GB) had attempted to take a narrow run between Super Julius (GB) and Kaafy (IRE) before a short distance later, Super Julius (GB) shifted slightly right-handed off the rail, causing Lee to check his mount which in turn resulted in Kaafy (IRE) being carried off its intended line.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1½ furlongs out involving Rayyan (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Clifford Lee and Precious Plum (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
Lee was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to hang left-handed, without sufficient correction, causing Hart to take a significant check on the rail.
Joey Haynes, the rider of Super Julius (GB), placed second, was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from approaching the final furlong.
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that the visor on Hard Solution (GB), placed seventh, had slipped, obscuring the gelding's vision.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Super Julius (GB), placed second, lost its left-fore shoe.
