The Stewards requested a report from Thomas Mullins, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Emily Square, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge possibly appreciated today's going compared with its most recent run, which may account for the return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered
The Stewards interviewed Ms L. O'Neill, rider of Miro, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10. 4 by using her whip without giving her mount time to respond and having taken her record into account suspended her for five race days.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (70 = 11st) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and; after the time of declarations shall not; be less than 11st and the minimum weight; is 9st 7lb Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won Riders: 1. Lady Riders who hold a Qualified Riders Permit under I.N.H.S. Rules 2. Lady Riders who hold a Permit to ride issued by any other Recognised Turf Authority. There will be no allowances to Riders in this race. There will be three International Riders and three Irish Riders selected to ride the top six horses in the race after the time of declaration.
