She was very keen until the four furlong marker and he had to sit and wait on her and then go for her. She's getting there. It's a long time since she's run and it's been a bit of a frustrating summer with her. She'll probably run in the Blandford because the owner is coming that weekend. She's won a Group Three now anyway. Mrs John Harrington, trainer
D. O'Brien, rider of Reckless Gold trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action coming down the hill and pulled up
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the final 200 yards involving Deauville, ridden by R.L. Moore, and Success Days, ridden by W.J. Lee, where it appeared Success Days ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that the interference he received was marginal and he took back as a precaution as his horse had given best at the time. R.L. Moore stated that he felt his mount cocked his ears around the 150 yard mark at photographers beyond the line which may have cost him the race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the interference was caused by accidental interference and took no further action
The Stewards interviewed C. O'Donoghue, rider of Beautiful Morning (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10 3. (e) and having considered his record suspended him for one race day
The Stewards interviewed Caroline Norris and Pat Healy, racing photographers following evidence given at a previous riding enquiry where a rider stated that he felt his mount cocked his ears at photographers which in his opinion may have cost him the race. Evidence was heard from the photographers concerned and a recording of the incident was viewed. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards advised the photographers to take more care in where they position themselves in future.
