Permission was given for Velocistar (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
Joey Haynes, the rider of Toplight (GB), drawn 10, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the rider was suspended for 1 day.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 4 furlongs out involving the winner, Toplight (GB), ridden by Joey Haynes; Rose All Day (GB), unplaced, ridden by Hector Crouch; Velocistar (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Josephine Gordon; Red Walls (GB), placed second, ridden by Harrison Shaw; Nurse Florence (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Shane Kelly and Boot Scootin Baby (GB), placed third, ridden by Andrew Mullen.
Haynes was suspended for 10 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left towards the inside rail when insufficiently clear of Rose All Day (GB) crowding that runner for a sustained period onto Velocistar (IRE), which had to be severely checked and made contact with the hindquarters of Boot Scootin Baby (GB), causing that filly to be hampered.
As a result of the interference to Velocistar (IRE), Red Walls (GB), which was following, had to be checked and shifted left to avoid clipping heels which caused Nurse Florence (IRE) to be severely checked by its rider on the rails.
Inside the final ½ furlong, Apache Mist (GB), placed fifth, edged slightly left as Red Walls (GB), placed second, drifted marginally right causing Nurse Florence (IRE), placed seventh, to be significantly checked between runners, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Shane Kelly reported that Nurse Florence (IRE), placed seventh, was denied a clear run in the home straight and Tom Marquand reported that Teddy B (GB), placed eighth, was slowly away.
