After he won (at Dundalk) we thought he’d go on and win a few more. He got cast in the box then he finished fourth but got a bit sick of the surface. We freshened him up and I thought he ran quite well in Leopardstown from a terrible draw. We put the cheek pieces back on and today was the first time he had a good draw for us. Hopefully he’s still in that grade and, if he is, he can win another one. He got himself all hot and bothered before the race, why I don’t know. A couple of the syndicate members got to come today. W.M. Lordan, rider of Basrah Breeze trained by E. D. Delany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost it's hind legs leaving the gates.
