The apparent improvement in form of Powerallied (IRE), compared with its previous run at Haydock on 10 August 2019 where the gelding finished eighth of eight runners, beaten by nine and a half lengths, was considered.
Richard Fahey’s comments that the gelding appreciated a return to Chester were noted and Powerallied (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Tony Hamilton reported that Growl (GB), placed sixth, was outpaced, Jimmy Quinn reported that Machree (IRE), placed seventh, was slowly away, Toby Eley reported that Peggie Sue (GB), unplaced, was never travelling.
