The Stewards reviewed an incident at the last flight involving Yenillik, ridden by Rachael Blackmore and Military Hill, ridden by M.M. McDonagh, where it appeared that Yenillik dived towards the gap of the fallen hurdle and may have hampered Military Hill. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference that occurred was accidental and that no further action was warranted
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. D. Maher, that T. Reilly, rider of Clonguile Way, had weighed in at 1.6lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case and stated that he had a drink of water after he had weighed out and did not realise how much it would add to his weight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that T. Reilly was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended T. Reilly for one raceday.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-109 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
