R. Walsh, rider of The Crafty Butcher trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake and was pulled up thereafter. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined The Crafty Butcher, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. B.J. Cooper, rider of Marinero trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount felt lame and was pulled up thereafter. The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L Malone, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that C.D. Timmons, rider of Forever Gold, weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record, cautioned him.
