The Stewards requested a report from D. K. Weld, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Dalton Highway, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Pat O'Brien, authorised representative of the trainer, reported that this horse ran well previously in Galway but in the apprentice race at the Curragh last time riders were not allowed to carry whips. Today, the horse, which perhaps needs a strong ride, may have appreciated a return to being ridden by a senior rider. He also reported that headgear was reapplied today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report. L.F. Roche, rider of Path Of Silver, trained by Richard Brabazon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran flat from two furlongs out.
