The stewards noted that leaving the back straight, Al Asef (GB), placed fourth, while being restrained after racing keenly made contact with Deputise (GB), unplaced.
The winner, Bezzas Lad (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 12th January 2022 where the gelding finished 7th, beaten 6 ¼ lengths.
It was noted that the Trainer could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form other then the yard is in good form.
Following the race, Angus Villiers reported that CHAMPAGNE SUPSNOVA (IRE), unplaced, hung badly right-handed and Christian Howarth reported that Red Walls (GB), unplaced, jumped awkwardly from the stalls.
