The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Dedillon, ridden by C. Horgan, placed sixth, Talbot, ridden by H.J. Horgan, unplaced, Shahaada, ridden by S.T. McCullagh, placed fourth, and Plunkett (GB), ridden by Ciara Flynn, placed second, where it appeared Plunkett drifted off the rail close home
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. H.J. Morgan stated he suffered slight interference from his inside but it did not cost him a place. C. Horgan, stated he suffered slight interference from his inside but it did not cost him a place. S.T. McCullagh stated he got a bit of pressure from his inside but it did not cost him a place. Ciara Flynn, stated her mount drifted out from the rail under pressure. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Plunkett had caused interference, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings
They were, however, of the opinion that Ciara Flynn, was in breach of Rule 214, in that she had ridden carelessly and having considered her record in this regard the Stewards suspended her for 2 racedays
T.P. Madden, rider of Princess Azure trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room early in the straight.
