Permission was given for Paws For Thought (IRE) and Russco (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1½ furlongs out, involving Russco (IRE), placed third, ridden by David Probert and Gweedore (GB), unplaced, ridden by Andrew Breslin.
Probert was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed without sufficient or timely correction, when not fully clear of Gweedore (GB), causing Breslin to be tightened for room against the rail over several strides.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Asad (IRE), placed second, hung right-handed simultaneously as the winner, Ascot Adventure (GB) improved into a legitimate gap to its outside resulting in Ascot Adventure (GB) being carried off its intended line towards Earls (IRE), unplaced, which was moved across the running of Mossbawn (GB), placed fourth, which had to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of any runner.
It was noted that the winner Ascot Adventure (GB) propped and jinked left-handed approaching the crossing after the winning post, causing Adam Kirby to be unseated.
Following the race, James Doyle reported that Kingmania (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away; Graham Lee reported that Paws For Thought (IRE), unplaced, was fractious in the stalls and hit the gates hard when attempting to anticipate the start and David Allan reported that Ugo Gregory (GB), unplaced, slipped on the bend entering the home straight.
