An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference, inside the final half furlong, involving the winner, Eye Of The Water (IRE), ridden by Kevin Stott, Peachey Carnehan (GB), placed second, ridden by Phil Dennis and Split Elevens (GB), placed third, ridden by Darragh Keenan.
The Stewards considered that the interference was accidental and had not improved the placing of the winner, Eye Of The Water (IRE) or Peachey Carnehan (GB), as limited camera coverage available due to heavy fog showed Keenan commit for what was initially a legitimate gap on Split Elevens (GB) which had narrowed as he improved into it when Eye Of The Water (IRE) edged marginally right-handed at the same time as Peachey Carnehan (GB) edged slightly left-handed causing Split Elevens (GB) to be eased in the final strides after becoming tight for racing room, but that gelding had always appeared held before being beaten a nose and 3/4 of a length.
As the runners were decelerating on pulling up after the finish line Split Elevens (GB) clipped the heels of Peachey Carnehan (GB) and unseated Keenan.
