Permission was given for Seaforth (IRE) to go early to post and for Red Evelyn (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Amasova (GB), trained by Alice Haynes, ran without its left-fore shoe as the trainer had not indicated at the declaration stage that the filly should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe.
The Starter reported that English Spirit (GB) refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 4:31pm.
Heather Main was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that English Spirit (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the gelding would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
Leaving the stalls Hachert (GB), unplaced, jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed making contact with Rose Fandango (GB), placed fifth, which was carried onto Red Evelyn (GB), placed second, causing that filly to be hampered and in turn inconvenience Alicestar (GB), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Shortly after the start, Soyounique (IRE), unplaced, lugged quickly right-handed crowding Seaforth (IRE), unplaced, for racing room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one furlong out involving Rose Fandango (GB) (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by George Rooke, Red Evelyn (GB), placed second, ridden by Joey Haynes, and Alicestar (GB), placed third, ridden by Liam Keniry.
Rooke was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right-handed without correction briefly tightening up Red Evelyn (GB), which in turn was carried right-handed and made light contact with Alicestar (GB), which was slightly impeded.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Lincoln Gamble (GB), ridden by Kieran O’Neill, Red Evelyn (GB), placed second, ridden by Joey Haynes, and Alicestar (GB), placed third, ridden by Liam Keniry.
After hearing evidence from all three riders and viewing recordings of the incident, it was established that inside the final half furlong Lincoln Gamble (GB) had lugged right-handed under a hands and heels drive towards Red Evelyn (GB) causing that filly to be briefly intimidated off her intended line and in turn make contact with Alicestar (GB) which was slightly inconvenienced as a result.
Bearing in mind the minimal nature of the interference suffered by Red Evelyn (GB) and Alicestar (GB), combined with how close to the finish line it occurred and the fact that Lincoln Gamble (GB) always appeared to be comfortably holding both runners to win by a neck and a neck margin, the placings remained unaltered.
Following the race, Connor Beasley reported that Soyounique (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
