Permission was given for Howardian Hills (IRE) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the winning post on the first circuit when Lord Howard (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Ella Boardman, interfered with Its Nice Tobe Nice (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Ben Curtis.
Being a 7lb claimer, Boardman was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Boardman was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she had allowed her mount to shift right- handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of Its Nice Tobe Nice (GB) causing Curtis to take a significant check.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, Rail Dancer (GB), placed second, shifted right lightly bumping the winner, Double Legend (IRE), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Richard Kingscote reported that Boychick (IRE), which was pulled up, hung right- handed, lost its action and stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, shortly after the race, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
