The Stewards enquired into an incident in the back straight involving Acht Na Gaeilge, ridden by K.J. Manning, unplaced, Divine Approach, ridden by S.P. Davis, unplaced and Leedle Lady, ridden by K.J. Leonard, unplaced, where it appeared that Leedle Lady ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by S.P. Davis riding carelessly therefore he was in breach of Rule 214. Having taken his good previous record into consideration the Stewards suspended S.P. Davis for 1 raceday. The Stewards fined Michael C.Connell, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Candle In The Wind, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
