Moghamarah makes it third time lucky in style
She won well. She was a bit unlucky Galway as she was drawn very wide and got knocked about a good bit, she probably should have won,. I'll see what the boss says but I don't think we'll run her anymore (this year). We'll keep her and probably run her in the Guineas trial at Leopardstown or something like that.
Well backed King quickens up to win in style
He was very good. He was very green and Shane said he got himself into a place he didn't want to be because they'd gone very steady and he thought 'oh god they are going to sprint now' but he was good when he pulled him out,. He really quickened up well, he quickened up like a good horse. He's going to be a nice staying horse. I don't know where he'll go, we'll wait and see. He did that really well. We've always thought he was nice and he is in the Irish Guineas and the Derby. He's got a few good entries. We've been waiting all year for him. He's won now and we'll wait and see.
Foley bags brace as freelance
He came to me from Ger's. He left Ger's and had then been gelded and had a wind operation,. He came to me and I've just trained him away. I said to Shane there 'I've no idea how fit he is'. He won in France over a mile and that's why we said we'd run him over a mile, though he won over six for Ger. Shane said he got there way too soon. He got to the front and he thought he'd done his job. He was only idling. He loves that soft ground. We might go back for a Listed race on that ground. I'd say he probably has to have soft ground. He's not an over-big horse so I'd say we'll probably go for a Listed race rather than a handicap. He was going to run in a handicap at Listowel but I thought it was too heavy for him.
Sleepy strikes for Flynn
That's great. She can just be a bit messy at the start. She didn't go in the last day and we've done a lot of work with her at home,. Pat said she was a little bit iffy today but she went in and she relaxed inside. She's a nice filly but she just takes a bit of gentle handling. She didn't mind the ground at all. That's my 751th winner and Pat has now gone one in the lead (in jockey's championship). It's a good tonic for Bill (Foley) as well. He has a good few horses in training and is a great man. I'd say she'll run on the grass again next time and then she might go to Dundalk. It's just a case of keeping her nice and relaxed.
Laganore takes Gowran feature in style
She's been very good. Luck just didn't go her way but she's a right good mare and for the boys who own her she's worth a right few pounds now as a broodmare so it's worked out grand,. She's been promising to do that for an age. She loves that ground and that's what Colin said. She's in good order and you couldn't be happier with her. I'll have a chat to the owner now and see what he says but today was important. We were a long time waiting all year. She didn't get the rub of the green there but sure today was great and it's worked out well. I couldn't see her staying in training next year as they'll want to breed from her. I doubt it very much but I'll chat with Maurice and see what he says but I doubt it. To get today out of the way was the really important thing and we'll see were we go. You'd be happy with her after that and there is not too much more we can do with her now.
Mistake makes perfect start for Keatley
I don't have him that long, he's only with me a couple of months. He came from France in rag old order but we got a bit of grub into him and got him looking well,. He's good and fresh in himself at the moment and he's in again at Galway on Tuesday. If he's okay he'll go again. He loves the ground and is a typical Fast Company. Richard Fahey had him as a two-year-old and his best form was on good to soft over there. We'll get another bit of grub into him and sure he might jump a hurdle!
Keane doubles up on Path
We're delighted with that and we've always liked this horse,. We probably made a little bit of a mistake stepping him up in trip too quickly as we felt he was more of a stayer. He has speed and he was a little bit weak at the time to step him up drastically, hence the run at Killarney. On his first run you'd have to fancy him today. Dropping him back in trip has done the trick. He's a brother to Elusive Heights out of a good mare that we trained, a group 3 winner, and he's only going to get better with strength and time. He's a nice horse. We'll have a chat with Patrick (Cooper) and he's a horse with a future. He's acted on that ground and we'll see what's left for him.
