Shortly after the start, MAIDEN’S GREEN, unplaced, hung left-handed making contact with Runshaw Lane (GB), unplaced, on several occasions causing that gelding to become unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when Antiphon (IRE), placed second, ridden by Joshua Bryan, interfered with MAIDEN’S GREEN, unplaced, ridden by Hayley Turner, which in turn interfered with Runshaw Lane (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ryan Sexton.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Sexton was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Bryan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his horse to edge left-handed when insufficiently clear of MAIDEN’S GREEN crowding that runner onto Runshaw Lane (GB) causing Sexton to take a check.
Approximately 2½ furlongs out, MAIDEN’S GREEN, unplaced, hung left-handed tightening Runshaw Lane (GB), unplaced, for room against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Inside ½ a furlong out, Antiphon (IRE), placed second, shifted quickly right-handed away from the whip before being corrected by its rider briefly hampering Maritime Rules (IRE), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Antiphon (IRE).
Following the race, Connor Beasley reported that Glamping (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
