He has been knocking on the door and I'd say it will be bigger handicaps for him from now on, maybe something like the November Handicap later on in the season. The ability is in him, he was placed in a Grade 3 over hurdles, so there is plenty of ability there, but he is just a bit of a head case. We have had him since the spring, around February time. That's his eighth run for us now and he has always been there or thereabouts. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined One Cool Poet, trained by A.L.T.Moore, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (75 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 75 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 75 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 75 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap) Riders - : Open to all Apprentices who are apprenticed to trainers in Ireland only.
