Permission was given for La Chica Lobo (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute and for Show Me A Sunset (GB) to go early to post.
Upon leaving the stalls, Dabbersgirl (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed onto Born To Sire (IRE), unplaced, causing the rider of the latter to steady the gelding briefly, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Gina Mangan, the rider of Calypso Danser (GB), drawn 10, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the rider was suspended for 1 day.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Show Me A Sunset (GB), placed second, ridden by Barry McHugh, Portia's Pearl (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carver and Calypso Danser (GB), unplaced, ridden by Gina Mangan.
Being a 7lb claimer, Mangan was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany her in the enquiry but declined.
Mangan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she angled her mount toward the rail when not sufficiently clear, carrying PORTIA’S PEARL off its intended line, which in turn caused McHugh to take a check aboard Show Me A Sunset (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend involving involving Rayyan (GB), placed third, ridden by Clifford Lee, Portia's Pearl (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carver and Calypso Danser (GB), unplaced, ridden by Gina Mangan.
Mangan was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she allowed her mount to edge left-handed, towards the rail when not sufficiently clear of Portia's Pearl (GB) causing Carver to be tightened for several strides and take a check which in turn crowded Rayyan (GB) for a sustained period.
Following the race, Liam Keniry reported that Herring Bay (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and Gina Mangan reported that Calypso Danser (GB), unplaced, ran too freely.
