Permission was given for Holbache (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the final half furlong involving Likely Successor (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Tyler Heard, the winner Mutasallem (IRE), ridden by Dane O’Neill, Holbache (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Hollie Doyle and Onaledge (GB), unplaced, ridden by Marco Ghiani.
Being a 7lb claimer, Heard was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany him in the enquiry but declined.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved any horses placing, finding the incident to be accidental and caused by several factors occurring almost simultaneously.
It was accepted that inside the final furlong Ghiani had committed Onaledge (GB) into a legitimate a gap and established running between Holbache (GB) and Likely Successor (GB) without causing any interference.
A short distance later Holbache (GB) commenced to edge left-handed at the same time as Likely Successor (GB) drifted slightly right-handed which caused Onaledge (GB) to become tight for room.
Whilst that was occurring Mutasallem (IRE) hung left-handed before being corrected by its rider, which left Holbache (GB) awkwardly placed close to the heels of Mutasallem (IRE) and racing in restricted room to that runners on its inside.
Thereafter in Ghiani's attempt to hold his position between Holbache (GB) and Likely Successor (GB), Onaledge (GB) had bumped Likely Successor (GB) heavily on the hindquarters, causing the filly to become badly unbalanced and shift sharply right-handed which resulted in Onaledge (GB) and Holbache (GB) both being severely checked out of the race.
On the run to the line Sociality (GB), placed fifth, lugged right-handed causing Find A Penny (GB), unplaced, to be hampered, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sociality (GB).
