Leaving the stalls, Public Opinion (GB), unplaced, jumped left inconveniencing Rampage (IRE), unplaced, which in turn made contact with Allo Arry (IRE), placed fourth, at the same time August Place (GB), unplaced, jumped right giving a significant bump to Allo Arry (IRE) and resulting in it to lose its early position but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Oisin Orr was questioned regarding his riding of Allo Arry (IRE) from 2½ furlongs out until approaching the final furlong, from which point the gelding had stayed on strongly to finish fourth, beaten by 2¼ lengths.
Orr stated his instructions were to ensure Allo Arry (IRE) relaxed on this occasion after running too freely on its debut and failing to finish the race off.
Orr explained that Allo Arry (IRE) had suffered interference leaving the stalls and ran freely through the early stages.
He added that leaving the back straight he was unwilling to take a wide course around both Coconut Bay (GB) and CLADDAGHUFF on his inexperienced mount and although aware that neither of those aforementioned runners were travelling particularly well, he believed that Coconut Bay (GB) had already shown a tendency to lug right-handed, which he anticipated would present him a ground saving passage through along the inside.
However, as that didn’t immediately materialise, it resulted in Allo Arry (IRE) being denied a clear run at a crucial stage approaching the home bend.
Thereafter upon entering the home straight, he had switched to the inside of Coconut Bay (GB) which eventually rolled off the rail where Allo Arry (IRE) had changed leads and initially became unbalanced, before finishing its race off well once being placed under pressure having obtained clear running.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Allo Arry (IRE), during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
His explanations were noted.
Following the race, Dylan Hogan reported that August Place (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed; Theodore Ladd reported that Mr Quigley (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed and Dougie Costello reported that RITA’S WISH, unplaced, jumped awkwardly from the stalls.
Daniel Tudhope reported that Public Opinion (GB), unplaced stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.
