Permission was given for Despoina (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start; for Convertible (IRE) to go early to post and for Croeso Cymraeg (GB) to be mounted on the course and to be led early to post.
HECTOR’S HERE made contact with the gate going out onto the course.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
Approximately 1 furlong after the start, Sharpcliff (GB), placed fifth, shifted quickly left-handed whilst racing greenly carrying Regular Income (IRE), unplaced, onto Convertible (IRE), unplaced, which was shifted off its intended line, causing Croeso Cymraeg (GB), placed second, to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sharpcliff (GB).
At the end of the back straight, a free-running Good Impression (GB), placed eighth, shifted right-handed, causing Flying Dragon (FR), unplaced, to be tightened for racing room against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Good Impression (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the 2-furlong marker involving Good Impression (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Isobel Francis and Croeso Cymraeg (GB), placed second, ridden by Joshua Bryan.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Francis was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior jockey.
Bryan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had manoeuvred right-handed to the rail when insufficiently clear of a weakening Good Impression (GB), causing Francis to check her mount.
Following the race, Isobel Francis reported that Good Impression (GB), placed eighth, ran too free and Josephine Gordon reported that Didtheyleaveuoutto (IRE), placed seventh, suffered interference approximately 2 furlongs out.
