He’s a horse that won a four-year-old (point-to-point) and had a couple of niggly problems so Harry threw him out into a field for a year. He’s relished a step up in trip and better ground. I suppose he’ll get a good hike in the handicap for that, but it was a very weak race. I thought he was a bit of a monkey when he was running in winners’ races and he got beat in two winners. The Raceday Stewards fined Paul John Gilligan, trainer €65 for fitting cheek pieces to Cloughroe which had not been declared and ordered it’s removal
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer of Justmadeit, in relation to the late arrival of his charge to the saddling area which resulted in a five minute delay to this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that when he went to saddle his charge he noticed that a member of staff had brought the wrong horse to the saddling area. He said he immediately rang another member of staff to bring the correct filly up for saddling which took a considerable amount of time given the distance between the stable yard and the saddling area. He concluded by apologising for the inconvenience caused. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation offered on this occasion and took no further action other than to remind Mr
Hogan of his future obligations under Rule 32(ii).
