He’s a summer handicapper and thankfully has won one for the lads (Cross Of Kilrane Syndicate) from St Mary's GAA in Rosslare. The longer trip certainly helped and Jordan used his head. You have to jump well around here and he winged the last two. Only for that we were in trouble. He was about three lengths down turning in but he winged the last and that’s what won it for him. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Get Phar, trained by Eoin Griffin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a wound on its right fore cannon but to be otherwise post race normal
At the request of the Stewards, R. Deegan, rider of Get Home, trained by Olivia Hegarty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount found the ground be too quick
The Stewards enquired into an incident after the last involving Ocean Glandore, ridden by H. Morgan, placed third, Rock Of Tuskar, ridden by J.C. Gainford, placed first and Swiss Brid, ridden by S. Fitzgerald, placed second, where it appeared Ocean Glandore got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. H. Morgan stated that his challenge was fading when he got tight for room and had to take a precautionary check but that it had no effect to his finishing place. J.C. Gainford stated that his horse jumped the hurdle on the outside and he was satisfied that, on the run to the line, he left enough room for the horses on his inside. S. Fitzgerald stated that his horse rolled towards the rail and he thought he was clear of Ocean Glandore. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise S. Fitzgerald to ride with more care in future.
