The Stewards enquired into an incident soon after the start of this race involving Stormy Belle, ridden by K.J
Manning, placed fifth and Noble Intention, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced, where it appeared that Noble Intention ran short of room when racing close to the running rail and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Manning had caused the incident by riding carelessly. Having taken his good record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned K.J. Manning.
