See also » OSullivan-doubles-up-on-newcomer-Raya-Time He is a good horse and his work was very good. He was ready to run in the autumn and in fairness to Nicky (Teehan, owner) he gave him plenty time and was very easy to deal with and did what was right by the horse and he got a lot stronger over the winter. He'll be sold now. I don't know if he was as good last year's winner (Summerville Boy) but he has done everything we've asked him at home. Summerville Boy was always a very good horse and they're hard to come by those horses but this horse is a good horse. He always showed us plenty of pace. S Curling, trainer
The Stewards fined David Kenneth Budds, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Mr Stubbs, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order
The Stewards enquired into possible interference on the final bend involving Churchtown Glen, ridden by Miss J
Walton, placed fifth, Hotel Du Nord (FR), ridden by Miss K. Harrington, placed sixth and Jan Maat (GER), ridden by Ms L. O'Neill, placed second, where it appeared that Churchtown Glen was tight for room when running through the running rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Churtown Glen in running through the running rail had therefore taken the wrong course. The Stewards disqualified Churchtown Glen from fifth place. The amended result now reads: First - Raya Time (FR), Second - Jan Maat (GER), Third - Ring The Moon (GB), Fourth - Ragin Cajun and Fifth - Hotel Du Nord (FR). The Stewards found Miss J.Walton to be in breach of Rule 215 by failing to pull up her mount after taken the wrong course and cautioned her for this offence. Furthermore the Stewards found both Miss K.Harrington and Ms L O'Neill to be in breach of Rule 214 by riding carelessly which contributed to the incident enquired into. The Stewards suspended both riders for 1 raceday. Ms. Kate Horgan, Acting Steward, absented herself from this enquiry
Miss L.A. Hourigan, rider of Ragin Cajun trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her saddle slipped during this race
